Yes, I know!

Yes, I know it is poorly written.
Yes, I know over all I am responsible for the SPAM , third party or not.
Yes, I know I acted like an a hole on the phone and should have quit while i was ahead.

Did I leave anything out??

Bottom line: I did not want to be bothered by a self righteous abuse center pin head on a Holiday week end.

The whole matter could have be clear up with a second email.

Follow up

January 2, 2006 on 9:21 pm I called GoDaddy and asked to talk to customer care, the operater told me GoDaddy doesn’t have a customer care support call center but they do have an email address (president@godady.com)

I did write president@godady.com and explained my side and got an email back telling me that my email was forwarded to the Abuse Department. LOL

As far as News Groups, I did not realize they were part of the promotion, to tell you the truth I had no idea that News groups existed.

Here are the news groups that were posted to:
alt.auctions.online, alt.binaries.auction, alt.marketing.online.ebay, and alt.marketplace.online.ebay newsgroups

Here are the options GoDaddy gave me:

Option #1: Provide proof your newsgroup submission is authorized.

Option #2: Discontinue all future unauthorized newsgroup practices and authorization for GoDaddy.com to charge a $199 non-refundable administration and stay with GoDaddy

Option #3: Initiate the transfer of your domain name to a new registrar within the next 24 hours and authorization for GoDaddy.com to charge a $50 non-refundable administration fee to the credit card on file for your account. All suspended domain names require payment of this fee which is used to reimburse Go Daddy for the costs we have incurred in addressing this issue.

I originally wrote this as a reference for my personal use.
I decided to post my comments to a blog because I had to vent!
On December 29th 2005 at or about 4:30pm I received a phone call from the Godaddy.com abuse department.

Godaddy.com:
You did not reply to an email that had been sent and I need to do follow up to insure you send an email to the Godaddy.com Abuse department @ abuses@goodady.com so your account is not suspended.

Me:
Is the SPAM an email from me?

Godaddy.com:
I can not talk about it, you need to sent an email right away so your account is not suspend and a person will be assigned to your case to do follow up and answer your question.

Me:
That is stupid, why do I need to send an email if I already have you on the phone?
Why can’t we fix the problem right now?
I do not know of any SPAM to anyone unless it was a post that I replied to all asking to be taking off the email list?
I have a news letter? Can you tell me more about the SPAM?

Godaddy.com:

No I am in an office

Me:
Yes you can! I just spoke with a person that said that I SPAMMED someone and he could not talk about it?
Even though he did that initial investigation and deem it as SPAM? That sounds dumb!

Sir you do not need to raise your voice!

Me:
Are you on a speaker phone I can barely hear you that is why I am raising my voice.

Godaddy.com Abuse Supervisor:
Can you hear better now??

Me:
Yes can you tell me about that SPAM? I do not remember SPAMMING anyone was a post that I replied to all

Godaddy.com Abuse Supervisor:
No, it was the News Groups and we have several complaint against you.

Me:
I did not post to the news groups?
Unless it was someone I hired to promote my website??

Godaddy.com Abuse Supervisor:
Irregardless if it was you or the marketer you hire to promote your website when have the compliant against your domain and you need to email use at abuses@goodady.com explaining what happened.

Me:
I did not SPAM anyone! Why do I need do send an email when I am talk to you? Why can we fix it now and be done with it?

Godaddy.com Abuse Supervisor:
Irregardless if it was you or the marketer, you are responsible. Are you going to send the email?

Me:
I am going to move all of my domains by the end of the week to a new hosting company! I feel you have SPAMMED me with you intrusive phone call!! I got up from the dinner table to take your phone call and now I am so angry with the way I have been treated I will not be able to finish my meal!

Godaddy.com Abuse Supervisor:
Tell you what sir, your account is now suspend have a good day!

Me:
I am glad I do not have to work for a living like you!

I wrote the email and sent it during the phone conversation, so I did do what I was asked to do.

The Godaddy.com Abuse Supervisor not only suspended my account he took the domain access away as well.
I can not move my domain name.
I have called teach support and they can not help me either.
Here is a copy of the email I was sent after the phone call:

of the GoDaddy.com Abuse Policy:

I had to paid 50 dollars to godaddy.com to get my domain name unlock so I could move it.
Bottom-line: Them that got the gold make the golden rules!
